HD liposuction and six-pack lipo: who is it for?

HD liposuction removes fat in layers and leaves it deliberately over the muscle grooves, so the outline of the abdominal muscles shows. It suits people who are already fairly lean and active.

How it differs from standard liposuction

Standard liposuction reduces fat evenly to make an area smaller. HD liposuction treats fat in two layers: deep fat is removed broadly, and the superficial layer is sculpted along the borders of the muscles: the midline, the sides of the six-pack, the horizontal lines and, in men, the obliques and chest. The result is definition rather than just reduction.

Good candidates

  • Body fat already moderate (roughly a fit build)
  • Firm, elastic skin
  • Regular exercise, and willing to keep it up
  • Realistic expectation: a defined, athletic look, not a bodybuilder's

Not for

  • Significant excess weight. Standard liposuction or weight loss first.
  • Loose skin. A tummy tuck is needed.

Recovery

Similar to standard liposuction, but compression and lymphatic massage are particularly important for the definition to settle well. Desk work after about a week; gym after 4–6 weeks. Definition improves as swelling settles over 3–6 months.

Cost

HD and 360° liposuction with Dr. Vikrant start at ₹1,50,000. See liposuction in Ranchi and liposuction recovery week by week.
