Botox (botulinum toxin)
Botox temporarily relaxes the small muscles that crease the skin when you frown, raise your eyebrows or smile.
Used for: frown lines between the eyebrows, forehead lines, crow's feet, bunny lines on the nose, a gummy smile, jaw slimming (masseter), and heavy underarm or palm sweating.
What to expect: a few tiny injections, no numbing needed for most people. Effect starts in 3–5 days, peaks at 2 weeks and lasts 3–4 months.
Dermal fillers
Fillers are gels of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally present in skin. They replace volume lost with age or add shape.
Used for: under-eye hollows (tear troughs), cheeks, nasolabial folds, lips, chin, jawline, temples, and non-surgical nose reshaping.
What to expect: numbing cream, then injections by fine needle or blunt cannula. Mild swelling for 1–3 days. Results show immediately and last 9–18 months depending on the area and product.
Thread lift
Absorbable PDO (polydioxanone) threads with small barbs are placed under the skin to lift sagging cheeks, jowls and the neck. They also stimulate collagen as they dissolve over 6–9 months.
Suits: early sagging in people in their 30s to early 50s who don't want surgery. Heavy sagging needs a facelift for a lasting result.
What to expect: local anaesthesia, 45–60 minutes, some tightness and swelling for a few days. Results last 12–18 months.
Safety
The rare but serious risk with fillers is injection into a blood vessel. It is avoided by knowing where the vessels run, using cannulas in high-risk areas and injecting slowly. Dr. Vikrant keeps hyaluronidase available at every session. Read Botox vs fillers: the difference and who a thread lift suits.

Common questions
What is the cost of Botox in Ranchi?
Botox with Dr. Vikrant starts at ₹8,000 per area (for example the frown lines). Treating the forehead, frown and crow's feet together costs more. The exact price depends on the units needed.
What is the cost of fillers in Ranchi?
Hyaluronic acid fillers start at ₹18,000 per syringe. Lips usually need one syringe; cheeks or jawline often need two or more. A thread lift starts at ₹30,000.
Who is the best doctor for Botox and fillers in Ranchi?
Injections look simple but depend on knowing facial anatomy, especially the position of blood vessels. A plastic surgeon trained in facial anatomy is the safest choice. Dr. Vikrant Ranjan has conducted Botox, filler and thread workshops in Ranchi and Mumbai and was faculty at AESURG 2025.
Will I look frozen?
Not if the dose is right. The aim is softer lines with normal expression. First-time patients are usually treated with a conservative dose and reviewed at two weeks.
Are fillers reversible?
Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme (hyaluronidase) if you don't like the result or if a complication occurs. This is one reason Dr. Vikrant uses hyaluronic acid fillers for most areas.
Is Botox safe?
Cosmetic Botox uses very small doses and has been used worldwide for over 20 years. Temporary side effects include small bruises, headache and, uncommonly, a slight eyelid droop that wears off. It isn't given in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
How long before a wedding should I have Botox or fillers?
About 4 weeks before for Botox and 4–6 weeks before for fillers, so the full effect shows, any bruising clears and there is time for a review. See cosmetic procedures before a wedding.
Can fillers get rid of a double chin?
Fillers don't remove fat. If the double chin look comes from a small or receding chin, chin and jawline filler brings the chin forward and the neck looks longer and slimmer. If it is a pocket of fat, chin liposuction is the right treatment. See double chin: liposuction, fillers or Botox.
